The 2026 Daphne Awards gala takes place at the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen on 14th of May 2026. Lang Lang, Serena Sáenz and Jonathan Tetelman will perform alongside the Tivoli Copenhagen Philharmonic and conductor Dmitry Matvienko.

the conductor
Dmitry Matvienko
Dmitry Matvienko is Chief Conductor of the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, where he began his tenure in the 2024/25 season. Recognized for his artistic maturity and expressive depth, he rose to international prominence after winning First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Malko Competition, along with top honors at the Guido Cantelli International Conducting Competition. He has since led many of the world’s leading orchestras across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Equally active in the operatic field, Matvienko has conducted productions at major European houses and continues to expand his international presence with notable debuts, including at the Opéra National de Paris. Born in Belarus, he trained in St. Petersburg and Moscow, working closely with distinguished conductors and developing a musical voice defined by clarity, intensity, and insight.

the Orchestra
Tivoli Copenhagen Philharmonic
Tivoli Copenhagen Philharmonic is one of Denmark’s oldest and most dynamic orchestras, with a history dating back to 1843 and the founding of Tivoli Gardens. Today, the orchestra consists of 65 full-time musicians and serves as the regional symphony orchestra for Sjælland, Lolland and Falster. It performs major symphonic concerts at the Royal Danish Academy of Music Concert Hall in Copenhagen and presents a wide range of innovative formats, from immersive education projects to cross-genre collaborations.

In summer, the orchestra performs as Tivoli Copenhagen Philharmonic, continuing a tradition of concerts in Tivoli that spans more than 180 years. Copenhagen Phil’s Chief Conductor is Christoph Gedschold, with Thomas Dausgaard as Honorary Guest Conductor.
